OPEN/ is a public workspace for indie builders.
It isn’t a portfolio or a landing page. It’s a system designed to help you build, document, and share your work in public—exactly as it is.
Why I built this
Most personal websites are built to impress. They are polished, curated, and filtered to make the creator look as successful as possible. But very few of them reflect reality.
I built OPEN/ because I wanted a space that actually shows:
- What I’m working on right now.
- What’s failing just as much as what’s working.
- Where my time and energy are actually going.
No "personal branding," no curated narratives. Just the work.
What it is (and isn't)
OPEN/ is a minimal, AI-ready framework for presenting projects in their raw state. It prioritizes context over aesthetics.
It helps you:
- Show projects in their current state (even if they're messy).
- Share real signals instead of vanity metrics.
- Think more clearly by documenting progress in real-time.
- Stay readable for both people and LLMs.
It is not:
- A marketing funnel.
- A startup template.
- A place for popups or "growth hacks."
The interface is intentionally unstyled. It’s a canvas, not a costume.
How it works
- A Calm Layout: A stripped-down structure that respects the visitor's attention. It frames the work without trying to "sell" it.
- Projects as Signals: Every project connects to its repo, live demo, and raw metrics. No noise, just data.
- Honest Metrics: Built-in patterns for revenue, traffic, or usage. Whether static or dynamic, it’s honest by design.
- The /open Dashboard: A live view of your current focus—what you're reading, your availability, and your active status. It's a living document, not a frozen snapshot.
- AI-Native: Structured data is baked into the core. It automatically generates JSON-LD so search engines and AI models actually understand the substance of your work.
Design Principles
- Clarity > Polish
- Continuity > Snapshots
- Transparency > Storytelling
- Systems > Pages
Who this is for
OPEN/ is for the builders who are tired of "performing" online. It’s for people who care more about the process than the presentation and want their digital footprint to match their actual output.
It’s built on Next.js and Tailwind, optimized for crawlability and long-term maintenance.
It’s a workspace first. A website second.
